Although the Venezuelan Grand Prix was a world sportscar championship event, only the works Ferrari and Porsche teams were present. Ferrari had a clean sweep covering the first four places with Peter Collins and Phil Hill taking victory before Hawthorn and Musso. The works Porsche of Von Hanstein and Barth came in fifth and were winners of the class up to 2 litres. The 1500 class was won by the private entry of Ed Hugus and co-driver Ed Crawford, beating Bunker and De Beaufort by two laps.
