The British Grand Prix was back at Silverstone after two years of Aintree. Carel had a very hard time keeping up with the six and eight cylinder cars and qualified 21st.
In the race he fought with the Sciroccos of Settember and Burgess and the Cooper of Tony Maggs. He finished behind the latter in tenth and six laps behind winner Jim Clark. Only the second placed Ferrari of Surtees and the BRM of Graham Hill finished on the same lap as the winner.
