Jack Fairman

b Smallfield (Great Britain), March 15, 1913 – d Rugby (Great Britain), February 7, 2002

Determined amateur Grand Prix and sportscar driver who was part of the British scene in the fifties and into the sixties. At the age of 50, Jack drove the second Maarsbergen Porsche in the 1963 Imola GP, finishing seventh. Fairman was a journeyman driver who dovetailed his racing career with the management of his family’s precision tool manufacturing company. His best career result was 4th in the 1956 British GP, racing for Connaught. Jack died 88 years old in 2002.
